Dr. Skarmeas is an Enterprise & Solutions Architect. He holds a  MSc, Phd  and PostDoc Degrees from Imperial College London. He has been appointed as visiting professor and researcher in various universities and research institutions abroad (Fujitsu Labs/Tokyo & Palo Alto, University of Ronneby /Sweden, Imperial College/London) and Visiting Professor at Department of electronics, Chania Polytechnic and as a Lead Architect at European Securities and Markets Authority, Paris.

He has been Being a member of development teams for over 25 years, gaining an extensive experience in the development of large scale systems, applications and projects in various sectors including Shipping.

His interests are around Distributed, Microservice based, AI, Big Data technologies, Enterprise and Software Architectures, Agile Methodologies and how those can be applied, become relevant and bring value on various business contexts.
